Ok here is a poem I came up with for my MGP project:
What Am I?
I am as sweet as candy
and
soft as cotton.
I am quiet as a mouse
when you speak to me.
I say kind words like
thank you and please.
and
do it with a smile
You can find me on
cloudy, sunny and windy day.
I also give out my tiny hands
to those who need it
and
I like to share
I make you laugh
and
What am I?
I am what will bring you lots of friends
I am MANNERS

Expository Writing/Persuade
Ok for MGP topic: MATTERS : For my expository writing piece I think I am going to make a poster that reads How to be Nice: then show 3 to 4 pictures people displaying various nice acts for example: sharing, helping others, listening, using kind words etc...... Then writing a sentence explaining the picture. I am still not sure what to write for the persuasive piece maybe think of a song that rhymes. since I am going to use the emotion method to persuade my audience (kinder/1st grade students) or maybe a poem????? still thinking confused on how I can do this any ideas???? They welcomed if you have any !!!!!!

MARIJUANA
Should Marijuana be legalized is the blog question????
Well to begin I think this topic is very controversial and can be argued for days or maybe forever. I personally do not agree that it should be legalized. Why? Because I think if it does, it will be doing more harm than good. I think more people will become addicted to it, yes the same way many are addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. And what would likely happen? We would be dealing with more crime, gangs, auto accidents, sickness, higher dropout rates etc….. the list can go on and on. So my question is why? Would we want to legalize other drug that is more likely to do more harm than good? Well I am sure many can argue this point. I can understand the drug being used for medical purposes, but not as a legalized drug that can be bought at the local grocery store.

MGP Narrative Rough Draft
MGP –Narrative
Rough Draft
One day Lindsey came home from school a little sad, and said Grandma why is Delia so mean to me at school? What do you mean? Grandma replied. Delia keeps on messing with me and my friends during recess.
Delia was Lindsey was next door neighbor, and also her friend she thought. Delia seems to be a different person after school Lindsey told Grandma. At school Delia picks on me at the playground. Delia calls me names and pushes me around, and is always trying to embarrass me in front of my friends. I don’t understand Lindsey said, I thought she was my friend.
Grandma replied, that doesn’t sound like a friend to me. Lindsey said I agree, I don’t think she understands how to be a real friend. Lindsey said, you know Grandma I am not the only one that feels this way. You see Delia is so rude and obnoxious towards people that no one wants to be around her. Delia really has no friends, because she has no manners.

MEMORIES
MEMORIES
Wednesday activity was very touching, funny, and very emotional for many including me. Well I did not share much in class, but I will share a little more in my blog. I am a little reserve when it comes to my personal life, and really do not open up to people until I know them a little better.
I will begin with the memory of my dear Mom which still brings me to tears at times. I remember the morning I received the phone call from my sister. It was Sunday morning the day before I was moving back home to San Antonio. We had finally got military orders for Texas, and I remember my Mom was so happy that I finally was moving back home. I had prayed for months that we would get these orders, and who would know I would lose her a day before I arrived. I remember flying home that morning hoping it was just a dream. It seemed like everything had changed in a split second, and it did my Mom was gone. I was sad, angry, and in shock, but glad that she was now in a better place. And I thank God for the years she shared with me. I love and miss her dearly, but know she’s always with me.
Other memory from long ago would be when everyone in my family liked each other. Yes the good old days, when everyone got along: aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. I remember growing up every weekend, bar b q, volley ball, cards etc… over at Grandma’s. But to have this happen today would be a miracle. It’s sad how the evilness of the world destroys love, friendship and happiness. (That’s if you let it???)

Personal Writing and All About Me
Personal Writing & All About Me
Wow! I never realized how much writing I do on a daily basis, even though I do not like to write I know it’s something I must do and learn to love since I will be doing it forever, and I must remember that writing is a process like Dr. Harris stressed. What type of personal writing do I always do? Email and To Do List: Well I think I would be lost without my “To Do List”. This list keeps me organized and sane. This list is especially helpful when it comes to my school work, my kids, and it helps me keep my household running smoothly. The other is of course is email. Though, sometimes I need to hear my friend’s voice email is quick and easy, and I can usually get straight to the point. Other personal writing I do is grocery list, journal writing, and school work of course.
The All About Me Activity:
I really enjoyed this activity. I will definitely use this activity with my students. You can have students write about themselves, about their favorite character in a book, their hero, or about an important person in their life. Well my all about me book was about me being a MOM. I did not get to finish it, but this was the first thing that came to mind. My children are my world, and currently they consume it along with school. But no complains I am happy God has given me the strength, and the opportunity to go to school full time, care for my family, and direct my path to a life fulfilling career: EDUCATION
Who am I?
I am sweet as Jam
I am caring and lovely
Who is also nurturing
And giving
I am patient
And wanting
The best for you
Who am I?
